The students will travel to the Blue Mountains area where they'll visit The Lithgow State Mine Heritage Park & Railway and the Scenic Railway in the Blue Mountains National Park for a guided tour through the ancient rainforest and valley floor. Then they will travel to the KCC Conference Centre for an overnight stay. The next day the students will travel to the Blue Mountains National Park Discovery Centre. Students will experience the natural and cultural environment of the area as they are guided through the park by local Aboriginal Rangers. The final stop before heading home is Historic Hartley, a 19th century village consisting of 17 buildings of historical significance.
This three-day excursion is an exciting experience for the Year 4 students, which will is a highly valuable and memorable experience that will have a lasting effect on all the students’ social, emotional and physical wellbeing. The students travel to the ‘Outdoor Education NSW’ facility at Morisset on the NSW Central Coast where they will experience a wide range of outdoor activities, such as orienteering, team building activities, ropes courses, a giant swing and rock climbing on the onsite rock climbing tower. ‘Outdoor Education NSW’ has a policy of ‘challenge by choice’ where everyone is encouraged to take part in the activities but will never be forced
